Hi im recapping a nc-183d i picked up at the hamfest it came with a photocopied book which shows all capacitor resistor labels etc but two of the caps in the radio are not shown in my book as i have now found out there are two to three variations of this model with different books so heres my question all caps in my book were in the same locations in my radio i assumed they were correctly valued in the manual and changed them accordingly not knowing about the different models at that time the sensitivity has greatly improved so i guess im ok there but i dont know the value of these two caps best i can tell they figure out to be .01 fortuantley if that is the case all the ones i changed with .01 according to the manual are going to be wrong because they are not the same color as these two im attaching a picture maybe someone can tell me the value hopefully im figureing it out wrong or i may have to go back and recap all those others
thanks
fred

.01 caps would be BRN BLK ORG = 10+000 = 10000pf = .01uf
.001 caps would be BRN BLK RED
.1 caps would be BRN BLK YEL

As best as I can tell from your pic,  those are C-92 and C-93
C-92 is .01uf at 450VDC ceramic (not a paper cap), tone adjusting cap
C-93 is .1uf at 400VDC paper, screen bypass cap.

Your two look like 600VDC caps judging from the blue band.

So i was figuring the value correct then
Turns out the others i changed were the right
Value to i was able to get two of them to test and they read .01
I guess the colors faded from the juice they were
Leaking all over i changed the ones i didnt know out
With .01 and all is good the 80m band seems a little weak
Compared to the rest anywhere i might look
For a common problem ive already changed all
47k and 2.2k resistors please excuse the spelling and formatting
I have to access the site from my phone
Thanks

Just finished recapping an NC183D and it really improved things alot.  Someone had changed the volume control and that had screwed up the
AGC.  It took a while to figure that one out.  I also found several resistors that had changed value drastically, so those were replaced also.  Good luck with it and I hope  you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.
