That was a fun night on 75!! Looks like that deer is still in velvet? The deer population here has grown since the paper companies have been doing patch work clear cutting. The newer vegetation is providing them with a greater food source.

A few years back a fellow was feeding deer in his back yard with carrots that were cooked and for some reason, the factory only wanted the juice from them?  He would get about 1000 pounds at a time. I saw about 25 deer feeding in his back yard and they didn't care how close you came to them.

Lately there have been a few deer attacks around here where in one case per the newspaper, the guy had to fight the deer for about an hour. I think the deer got tired and ran off. He was a young guy but if that happen to an older guy, it could have been fatal.

That was the BC-610D on there last night on my 160 meter antenna so with the antenna gain, I guess I was radiating a couple K's of power Pep.

Be careful that one has 'frickin laser vision'.

What did you do to attract him, paint molasses on that pole?

Nope. that's a piece of greased 6" duct pipe wrapped around the tree to keep the racoons off the feeder. They'll reach in and empty it in 2 days!

The feeder is full of whole feed corn. It dispenses about a pound of corn at dusk and dawn. The camera is motion triggered with a 1 minute delay between shots.
