Hi:

The LM723 is a good regulator if treated well. Can make a pretty quiet supply with it.

Astrons are known for their sensitivity to RF.

Another gripe I have about Astron is the model numbers are misleading.  I have an RM 70 which indicates 70 amps.  What they don't advertise plainly is it is 70 peak and only 50 constant.  So I really have a 50 amp supply.
