On Sunday I went to the DuPage County fairgrounds just west of Chicago for the Six Meter Club/Antique Radio/Midwest Classic Radio Hamboree combined fester.  WX was okay i.e. it did not rain, and there were a few gems for sale, but prices were a tad on the high side for me, so I got some photos, including a few things I could not take home, but a photo is free as I told the sellers.  Actually I made a couple of sales myself, a HA2040 tuner and a big 2200 ohm 300 ma Ohmite rheostat (I broke even on the big rheostat, which I think is in one of the photos).

First photo is Masa AB9MQ with table of stuff for sale mostly belonging to Lou W9LRS.
Second photo is Lou himself, on the phone probably putting together a hot deal on some gear.
Third a really nice looking SX28 and speaker for $550.

Here's a guy (I'm really sorry I don't recall his name and call sign) who was next to us with a very nice HC-10 for sale for $250, for which he got the full price after a few hours.  Now, if he had come down $200 I would have happily taken it home with me  Grin

next down is a receiver that reminded me of Ed's Zenith.  I found the back more interesting than the front, so that's why we're looking at the back  Cheesy

then there are a bunch of cathedrals I call the Marx Bros.

At the end of the fest, the Midwest Classic Radio Net held its annual auction, and one lucky fellow got away with a Ten Tec Triton IV for 100 bucks with power supply.

On the left in this photo is Pierre K9EYE.

Rob,

It looks like everyone was having a good time.  That SX-28 looked very nice!

Ur welcome--I'll tell you what, that SX28 looked just as good on the inside; I'm sorry I didn't get a photo with the lid up.

Dang, I forgot someone took my picture.   But that's excellent that you got a pic of Warren "Mr. Hallicrafters," Lou.

Didn't know Cliff's call sign and now I got a look at Cliff's iron he had for sale and that I must have missed by a few minutes.

Just to be clear, W9AD is on the right in Lou's photo  Grin  Grin

What's real weird is I have no recollection of that water tower at the fest.
