Last weekend I changed from Ubuntu Linux 10.04 LTS 32-bit to Ubuntu Linux 10.04.2 LTS 64-bit on my Toshiba laptop. Since the upgrade, when I mouse over the buttons on the forum pages, I get a clicking sound effect. I never got it before and I don't get it on my Windoze machine. I hate it. Any ideas y'all?

Like the evil Windoze OS everyone hates there should be a sounds and audio devices in how ever Linux controls sounds.
Windoze gives the options of no OS sounds......no start up music............no sign off music............no bonks or boings.
Prolly a fresh install all unwanted features are turned on.

I've selected "No Sounds" in System>Preferences>Sound, but no joy. It never used to do it back on the 32-bit install, so I don't know if I've just missed something, or if it's due to the 64-bit install.
