I've beened keyed on a station check since the 348 former melt down last weekend.

So here is a delight - had the 75A-1 from the "Collins Time Capsule" station on the bench today, thought perhaps the alignment had drifted. This was the station I restored some 5 years ago. Aside from a tad tweak in the fixed and variable IF, which I attribute to xtal aging, the set was spot on.

Who would have thought some 70 years ago this gear would still be here, and as stable and dependable as when in came out of the box...

Sure makes me feel like a made a good choice getting a 75A-3 and getting around the audio problem with an AF wiper tap to a p.p. amp.
