For sure. I hear (not well) a lot of 5-land AM activity, especially on 40 meters.
Hey I'm not saying there's MORE AM activity on the West Coast Steve, only saying that there definitely is regular activity. 7.293 is a hotspot in the SouthWest during the day too. But I mean look at the population density of the East Coast relative to the West Coast... of COURSE there's more activity!!
In the mornings when I get home from work after the local Texas/Okla/Ark/Louisiana stations have signed off (due to propagation shortnening on 75 meters) I will often log into the Connecticut GlobalTuners receiver and listen to the NorthEastern AMers carrying on.... so many stations clustered in a tighter area that they can keep going later with great fidelity and low noise... pretty neat!
