I’ve looked on the web for hours and can’t find any info, and BC-1, 250 prints are not helping much either. I was told that these came out of a 500T.

IIRC the specs are:

L1 is 15/5 H @ 500 mA 7000V,

L2 is 15/5 H @ 300 mA 5000V.

They sit on top of 1” ceramic insulators and both of them, L1 & L2 are mounted on a grey chassis. L1 is physically larger than L2.

There are three ceramic feed throughs on the chassis, #1 is connected to L1, #2 connected to L1 & L2, and #3 connected to L2.

In the BC-1 & BC-250, L2 is listed as the Mod reactor? It’s a swinging choke.

Information on how these chokes are connected in the plate supply or an interconnection diagram for a BC-500T would be a great help.

Thanks again!

Are the two chokes round and potted????If so they sound like the swinger and smoother out of a BC 500....I scrapped out a junker Gates 500 and those chokes on the chassis now reside in my Tesla360..Definately not mod iron or reactors
Each choke has an oil cap filter to ground......The B+for the Modulator comes off the swinger and the final B+ comes off the smoother Good luck....Steve

Steve:

Exactly!

I saw the picture of your Tesla 360 a few weeks back and even printed it off, but forgot what post it came from.

Yes they are “cans” and potted, UTC. They are both 25/5 swinging chokes, not 15/5 as I stated. L1 is physically larger than L2..  I’ll add that L3 is the 50 HY Mod reactor.

Just to clarify then…

L1, the large swinger goes to a 8uF @ 3000Vcap, 100k bleeder, the modulators, and L2.

L2, the smaller swinger, (but called a smother because of its position in the circuit?),
and goes to a 2uF @ 3000V, and then on to the final. I say 2uF because it’s the only cap left that’s rated at 3000V except for the cap between the Mod transformer and the reactor.

I understand that You might have used different caps but am I on the right track?

Thanks!

I may have different chokes......I 'm gonna hafta look..I think I have a 5-25 hy(?)and a fixed 11 hy (?) I don't think two swingers will make much difference to your application ....I'd be interested in others comments..............  My Gates BC1=G 1kw rig uses a single swinging
choke and a single 8 uf filter........
