If you get on there about 5PM eastern, you may work W1LYD Brian in Alaska on 14.286 or a kc or two lower. He's in Carcross Alaska for your beam heading.

I hooked the inverted v for 20 back up yesterday.1925utc.CQ 14.286,worked three stations. One answered me on USB,he had never worked A.M. in his long amateur career. He was hosting a Boy Scout winter fest and I helped a kid get his radio merit badge for our qso on A.M. His first ever also.
What a blast! I don't regularly work A.M. but I'm willing to change that. KA5RHK helped me get the transmit audio tamed down on this Icom 718 so now I have some confidence..
Where does one do A.M. on 40? I'm General license holder.
Thanks and 73...de Lane kd8iic qth is Columbus,Ohio Cheesy

40 meter AM in the General subband can be found on 7.280 to 7.230

7.290 7.293 7.295 are typical.  Call CQ if frequency is open.
