I just picked up a Sb-221 it didn't look bad on the outside but.... The inside has a little 11 meter mod. As it turns out who ever built it didn't put in any input coils. So I need some formation on the input coils. I have some coil forms that will fit, the number of turns and the wire size for each would be a help. This will save me from having to do the math for each one. I plan to use it mainly for slop bucket. It is of no real use for AM.

The whole input assembly often shows up on Fleabay after one gets converted to 6M. The last one I sold was $50.

They run fine at around a 250W carrier on AM; a small muffin fan on the transformer helps if youre into a lot of locked mike hot air.

Aloha,

I have modded several SB-221 for ten meters. I do keep an extra set of input coils that I would not part with, but would be glad to count the turn on the coils, get the wire size and send some close-up pictures of the coils in order with the additional capacitor changes as well. If you are interested email me. 73 Mark WH7TU
