It was great to hear you back on 75 meters the other night Ed. Your signal sounded as good as always here in northern CT!

Then I'll be able to get on 40 meters in the daytime around 2 PM eastern time.

Heard you on the air the other day ED. Good hearing you.

Seems like the best time to get on here in the east coast is from about 9 AM to 1:30 PM. After 1:30 PM the foreign BC rolls in but after 3PM it sometimes goes away and it's free sailing to around 5 or so. Around 11:00 AM the band is at it's best right now.

Hi Ed,
Don't forget the AWA net on Sunday afternoon at 4PM on 3.837.  It was great hearing you on a month or so ago.

Same here, Ed! You were either the first or second contact I made after getting the KW-1 on the air back in the late 80s/early 90s. The information you sent afterward was most helpful. I still remember you laughing quite hard when one of the guys described his location as being "at the bottom of Lake Huron".  Grin

Hi everybody! I'm finally back on 75 meters AM with the W3CIC homebrew rig which I inherited from him. I get on that rig at night around 3870-to-3880 and I'm waiting for my Globe King 500-A to get back in operation on 40 meters during the afternoon around 2 PM, as it has a short in it which I'm unable to locate. Fortunately, Frank Shaffner --- KB3OL --- has offered to trouble-shoot it to trace down where that short is located and fix it. Then I'll be able to get on 40 meters in the daytime around 2 PM eastern time. I'll be looking forward to talking to my old buddies, including especially Ken Moak --- KM8AM --- in Urbana, Ohio, who I started getting interested in ham radio back in 1970 when he visited my home after listening to me on 75 at night. I'm looking forward to talking to my old buddies again on 75 at night!

Great to hear that you are back on the air, Ed... I remember seeing that W3CIC transmitter at Larry's place back in 1973 -- the same year I met you for the first time at the Gaithersburg Hamfest. I have many precious memories of those years.

Someday I hope to return to the air myself.

With my best,

Kevin, WB4AIO.
