304-TH - Workin' it

« on: August 31, 2010, 06:37:47 PM »

I am not familiar with Faradon brand capacitors.

I found several transmitting jobs in the estate of an SK.

The pix are awful, taken on my cell phone. One Faradon capacitor had patents in the middle 1920s, the other shows Faradon as a subsidiary (?) of RCA in Boston, Massachusetts.
I have never heard of an RCA facility there.

Another is dual branded, Faradon and Cornell-Dublier.

Does anyone know the history of the Faradon brand capacitors?

Are these caps something that a vintage restorer could beneficially use? Voltages are stamped in the 10-15 KV range. They look older than dinosaur droppings, full of beeswax and whatever. Hola, QCWA!

The Faradon brand was manufactured by Wireless Specialty Apparatus Company back in the teens and 20's. Don't know when/if it became CD or others.
