This morning while I was at work the telefonium rang and my wife picked it up.
It was the Derb himself!! She talked to him for a while, then called me at work. She said he really sounded good and pretty much like his old self!!

We played phone tag during the day as he was in and out of therapy.
(therapy = I pay you to hurt me  Grin  Grin  )

I finally got a hold of him when he called me around supper time. We had a good phone QSO, carrying on like the old days of the BJB and the Slab Bacon wit da fat
meat shakin!! It really made my day to hear him, and him sound as good as he did!!

He is slowly recovering from a stroke that left his left side paralyzed. He got to take his first steps in therapy today as his ankle has pretty much healed up. The use of his left hand and arm is coming back slowly and probably going to take a while.
the other good news it that his cancer is totally gone, he just has to work at rebuiding his motor skills. but best of all his attitude and his spirits are high and happy, he sounds like the old Derb I have known for many years!

when told about the plan to get Ray up and going upon his return home, he lit up like a christmas tree.

Per our discussion and with his blessing (he asked me to) I am also psting his current contact info for anyone that would like to contact him.
He is in the Heartland of Keyser rehab facility in Keyser WV.
the facility phone number is 304-788-3415 and ask for him by name (Tim West)
It may take a few tries as you have to go through the main switchboard and he is being beat to hell with therapy, but I'm sure he'd love to hear fron some of youse guys!!

You probably just want to hear the Raytheon not the Derb Wink

It will be good when he comes back; the forum’s not the same without him either.

You guys are boring Grin
