I recently aquired a clegg 99'er thats had a mars mod on it, most of the circuit looks intact other then a mic switch relay installed, the problem is I went to retune it back to normal frequencies but I can't seem to get it to go above 45mc on receive, transmit freq is fine. maybe it's just old age here and being away from radio repair for too long. any suggestions would be apprichiated. thx Jim

I'm not familiar with the mixing scheme, but for giggles verify that the LO is set to the correct side of the carrier frequency.

LO injection on the wrong side might cause that. Hopefully the guy didn't bugger the LO coils to change the tuning range!
