One things for sure, if you get an old BA 6M rig, most of them are reasonable. You probably won't get hurt buying one. I found a pair of Laf-it-up HA-460's at a recent fest for 30 bucks. Traded one off for some mod iron.

Swan 250C .......  wide receiver and 2x 6146 for xmit....I also have a 551d icom...won't work on AM for some reason...

Swan 250C .......  wide receiver and 2x 6146 for xmit....

Nice rig; no tuning required; set it on a frequency, and in time, it will drift up and down the band.

It was aptly called the Swan Too Drifty by most who had to follow it around.

I had a G-50 for awhile that was about as bad and Ive settled in with the Zeus for over 20 years now.
