WOW..    Two restored 100% condition Johnson Desk KWs!!!!

I took two short vides showing his amazing station.

One is the Ranger 2 restored to 100% as new. The Desk KW also 100%.  The rare JRC reciever with sync AM.  Also pictured is the restored Clegg 2 meter AM rig. Below the Desk KW is the power supply and modulators for the Clegg. He fired it up.. 100+ watts carrier on 2 meters.. Has two 811s and a singel 250B tube for output. Incredible!

In the second room, He has a wonderfull Valiant, SSB adapter, REA mod meter, Sherwood Sync detector, R390A and a second desk KW and Ranger 2 this Desk KW has a BIG peter Dahl power trans in it. Its a real runner! Notice the incredible restored johnson 500! Also pictured his is ICom pro and 77SX amp. next to that is the Icom 970.

Outback he showed me his antenna tuner.. Its the BIG harris unit with an inverted L for lower bands and a host of beams.

Hope you enjoy these videos.. The Desk KW is a fantasy of mine so I was overwelmed when I walked in and saw two!!!!

Whose station is that?  Seems like I should be able to hear him.  Maybe I have.

The guy's name is John..................got that part. Good taste with the REA mod monitor.
That poor Johnson 500 must sweat on a long buzzard in that tight space.
Too short

Hi Clark,
Great video and thanks for posting it.  I am currently restoring the Johnson Desk KW that Martha gave me for XMAS.  If you could ask John where he got the replacement matt material for the top of the desk itself, that would be great.  They age over time and so far I have not found a good suitable replacement.  Its a great transmitter and I can't wait to get mine on the air.  What is John's call?
Thanks,
Joe, W3GMS

Email me at Clark at Clarkturnertuning dot com and I will forward you his email and phone number. I am sure he will give you any info he has about the KWs.

I am not posting his Ham call out of respect for him. He can come on here and post it if he wants but its not my house or gear so dont want to post it.

I thought you guys would enjoy the videos. He has a real nice station!

Understand Clark.  I will email you a bit later.  Right now I am applying 5 gallons of Dry Lock on my back porch floor.  Giving it a face lift after about 25 years!

That Clegg is the Zeus and also covers 6M where it will do about 125W carrier. It came with a 4CX150A but the 250 drops right in at the same power. The Interceptor (tube front end) or Interceptor B (Nuvistors) are the matching receivers. Ive been using the pair about 25 years and the stability is fantastic.

Thanks for the tours!  That one Johnson 500 shines like a star.  What a beauty.

The rigs are vented.  You can see it from the front.  I talked to him on the air today.. Sounded great.
