Very nice historic account of B&W. They made a lot of good things.

Hi Fred,
Thanks for you nice comments about the article.  It was great working with Jim Hanlon who authored the 2 part article.  Jim did a fantastic Job with the article. My part was to supply most of the B&W pictures as well as to tell Jim some stories about Jack. Bob, W3NE interviewed Jack several years before he passed away and everything was recorded during the interview on tape.  Bert, WA3JYU copied the tapes over to CD's and Jim used those for the article.  Bert, Bob and I certainly knew Jack very well since he was a member of our 12 member radio group.  After Jack's death I inherited all the old B&W photos.
I will pass along your comments to Ray at ER.

Joe, W3GMS

Joe:

Read the article last night.

VERY well done!

Great photos and provided a good feeling of the military needs and bidding process.

Hi Joe
It seemed like a lot of work went into the article. I was surprised that one company could just take away a project from another company...................and then they had a flawed product to boot.

Hi Dan,
I was really glad I could help by supplying those photographs.  I have many boxes of original B&W photos and the ones shown were only a small sampling.  Jim Hanlon and Ray were great to work with.  Jim's writing ability certainly did major justice to the subject.  Jack was a very modest guy and I am sure he would have blushed after he read the article.

Fred,
B&W had a great reputation with the decision makers up at FT Monmouth.  It paid off many time because they knew B&W could deliver on what was promised.  So when others failed, they turned to B&W.

Thanks for all the great comments about the 2 part article!

Regards,
