I see the klay kitty is watching the mousie on the screen.

That's Baby Velvet napping on Glo's shoulder in the first post BTW.

I'm at a loss for anything radio-y.  The station is all tore up and off air after making the changes required to accommodate Uncle Ray.

still fitting all the pieces back together and discovering why this cant be here and that cant be there.

so I post kitties. maybe tomorrow I'll have enough changed and cleaned to take a progress pic of sorts.

Brain Toomie also demands some luvins from Glo.  big bunny feet.

I wuv kitties.

I recently had to relinquish possession of my kitties, Merlin and Indy.   Indy is very sick, with  kidney problems  and likely won't last 'till  September.    He's only 12, and I raised him from a kitten.     He needs weekly intervenous drip, and my ex's hubby was a medic and a male nurse in the Canadian Forces, so he knows that stuff, plus there are two of them at her place to take care of the cats.  So she gets them.  I'm sacrificing my ownership for their  health and welfare.  I'll get another kitty in a few months.

Here are the kids, in better days...

I regret that Abby, the cat of my avatar and friend of many years, is very ill. Old age has caught up with her and I don't think it is going to let go this time but we will deal with this one day at a time.

sorry to hear Pat. We have lost two in the last year. Losing Mr. Sluggo was rough on me - out of all our brood he was "my" cat like brain toomie is "Glo's" cat....the one they naturally take to. I rescued Mr. Sluggo and she rescued Toomie.

Here is a picture of my twenty year old kat Pumpkin. She is the Queen of the world just ask her. She is still curious and checks out everything.  She is my constant companion in the shack.

Derb, I appreciate that. The three here are feral cats I took in. My way of rescuing a few. Usually they are the ones no one wants, some have had cat-diseases or are lame or other issues, but we all make the best of it. Abby ate a soft cat treat today. She had not eaten in 3 days. Still drinking enough, but barely, not in pain. She sleeps 22+ hours a day and is very tired. Not too hopeful but the eating of the treat was a little spark of encouragement.

Johnatan, Pumpkin is looks like a sweetie - there is no cat like the old cat.

Pat
I'm sorry to hear about Abby. Pumpkin is starting to go south she had a kidney infection about 8 months ago. It started from a bad tooth. Her kidneys are getting less efficient every trip to the vet. She had a seizure the other day and I thought that was it. But when it was over in a couple of minutes she was talking and wanted to eat.

OK - I have to share this.  I titled the first pic "Cat Pile."  Furthest away - the tan kitty is actually quite old - late teens -- Sarah.  She's really athletic and can still jump to the top of the kitchen cabinets. Bottom left is Sophie -- now older and darker than my original link when she was a JN (see above link).  Bottom and to the right is "Tootie" -- she is a grand old lady at 19 years and is still doing fairly well although her kidneys are giving some problems.  We frequently get cat piles at our QTH -- they've figured out that body warmth thing and get along pretty well.

The second pic was taken from our bathroom.  Sarah & young Sophie hanging out and window shopping birds outside (yum! Grin)

Finally, aint they cute and comfy?

Koda is the black eared one.
Cloe is the tan one.

Sad news, Abby the Cat passed away in her sleep this morning at 11:00. Abby's little cat bed was still there at the head of my bed but now I had to put it away as I could not stand to see it empty. Or to have the other cats in it right now because Abby used to defend that #1 spot and some respects are in order. Later it will be OK. The little brown cat Mookie is looking for her. When Abby fell ill and wouldn't stir, Mookie would come wash her face. She liked Abby, even if it was not much the other way around. Abby was a special rescue. She had FIV and her liver was malformed and only 1/3 the size it ought to have been. I am really grateful she lived well for 17 years. Here are some good pictures of Abby in happy days, pardon me if I post a few. one is with sashimi. Got to treat a cat right. In the second one, note the electric cord of the heating pad. It was a little too warm even on low, so i used a 3A variac to set 50%. Spoilage!

the last is Mookie, very friendly and the colors of red and orange coals in charcoal.

Sorry to post sad news alongside the cute kitty pictures, but I just remember pets are friends for life. "friends forever".

Pat,

Abby loves you forever - just like Patrick Swayze's character said in the movie Ghost, you get to keep the love.

For our outdoor kitty (too skittish to touch) I got this heated "condo"  She's as snug and a bug even on the coldest day.  Our mouse population has gone to practically zero since she moved in.  We also have a heated dish for water so it won't freeze.  Come to think of it -- we haven't heard any goings on in the attic since she took over

I'd love to get her into the vets but she wont hear of it.  She's great friends with our Shi tzu too (yes, he was long overdue for a hair cut).

Oh no, poor kitty. I give you my most sincere condolences, may she be in a place where all things are for cats, and her many years with your family always be remembered well. I feel your loss very much.

Here are a couple of the gentlemen from outdoors. They will be gone for days or even weeks and then turn up. Blackie and Brutus. Brutus has a good side and a bad side, but his bad side has gotten a lot better. These beat up old old tomcats are "cute kittys". on the inside, where it counts. They don't have a choice in their lot and are too wild to be caged for the vet or let in the house for more than a couple minutes to eat (all the while being very suspicious). I help them as best I can. Brutus has been doctored by me quite a few times. They get the vet-grade flea and tick drops when possible.
