Bonus : Where were Heathkits made?

Their answer: AT HOME.

Looks like they tricked themselves. HeathKITS were MADE and packed in Michigan.

They were assembled at home!

(Just being picky but words mean what they say!)

Didn't Heath have an option to purchase their models wired and assembled at Benton Harbor?

Yes.

This was true of most kit makers of the day including EF Johnson, Ameco, Knight et al. I have a Viking II that is marked on the chassis as having been factory wired.

Most of us couldn't afford the extra cash to have it "wired & tested" as we were generally dirt poor back then.
