All I heard was some SW stations. Hell I didn't hear any CW when down near 21.120.

15 was hot today, was listening to the British Isles talking to California, Utah, and Arizona while having lunch today. Is there an established AM window on 15 someplace? If not, maybe we should start one up before the band gets too occupied as Old Sol wakes up. 10 and 11 were both dead when I checked.

The listing in the AM Windowz site includes the following

17 Meters: 18.150

15 Meters: 21.285, 21.425

Also, Kevin,  I think we are too close.

I think I'd heard of the .425 frequency before during the last cycle. Lots of folks were commenting on how nice it was that 15 was finally open again.

We might be too close, you and I. I'm down in Ithaca area, you are up near SYR I think? But it would be nice to talk to some west coast folks during the daylight hours, not at 1 am on 75 meters.  Grin  I'm looking forward to doing that on 10 again once it starts opening regularly, but till that happens, 15 would do.

During the last bit of high MUF activity, on 15 meters, AM could be found anywhere between 21.400 and 21.450. The big knob(s) on the transceiver, receiver, and transmitter, or a mouse click, allow you to move freely around around that area.

Hi folks,
I was on 15M AM on 21.400 most of the afternoon until 17:00z
I had 7 QSOs including my old friend Dick K2UTC from White Plains who I first met on 10M AM 40 years ago this March.

WA1CLK was running 3 watts and peaked S7. I worked a VE3, WB7 and a K0. I heard VE6CQ on 21421 calling CQ but someone in the US beat me to it.

I was running about 25 watts carrier from my IC706MK11 to a DJ4VM 2 el quad at 35 feet.
I'll be on the band tomorrow on 21.400 from about 13:00 looking for QSOs.
No openings on 10M across the pond yet.

BTW tried 14.286. Hear WA1HLR I think but lots of QRM. Worked a YO2, who called me on SSB and a I0 who called me on AM.

Yep, I worked W1LYD/VY1 up in the Yukon territory from NC today on 21.440 with 40 watts carrier from my IC-756 & 3 el @ 110'. He was SMOKIN in ar about 20 over from way up there. That was a pretty decent haul from NC. Nice to see the higher bands opening up again!

I worked him at 14:23z on 21.400 with my IC-756 @ 40 watts. He's now on 21.420 @ 15:15z calling CQ with a nice signal. His signal has been building slowy over the last hour, and is now S9+15 here in NC running only 25 watts.

Hi Dave,
Here's a recording of our QSO on 15 AM this afternoon.
Great signal.
The band improved later. I worked about 9 stations on AM. Biggest signal was Nick VE3OWV at 40 over 9

Thanks for the audio file, John. I am surprised that it sounded that decent on 40 watts of carrier with my IC-756. Hope to see you on the air again!

It would have been even better on my K3 with its 6Khz filter. The 706RX is as wide as a barn door. I also had a high noise level yesterday.
CU soon

Great news about the higher bands. It's taken long enough. If things continue in this direction, it'll sure make for some nice alternatives to the noisy lower bands this summer.

To Dave or anyone else who works Brian W1LYD again: please give him my regards. Brian is an old friend from VT/ME, some will remember him as N1HUT before he got his dad's old call. Hopefully he'll make it to Deerfield this year.
