Its New Years Eve and I have been a good boy for many months. BUT tonight is News Years Eve and I feel like having a few cocktails and getting on the air! So turn the volume down and hide the kids... Grin

Happy New Year to all.

I am in Chester, IL freezing my butt off with no shortwave radio, engaged in building a custom military truck.

Knowing Irb, he would've gotten O. on the air, memorized every fact of the exchange, asked how the family was doing and sign off like a gentleman.

But the next time in QSO with O. he'd've asked for a recitation of the preamble to the US Constitution... figuring, of course, that any prez. worth his salt would know that, the Dec. of Independence, all the articles of the Constitution, etc.

Irb was always a gentleman, at least in the first QSO.

I worked Irb just one time on 75, and it was a pleasant QSO...Mostly discussing farming..I signed off wondering why he seemed such a polarizing individual.
