gonna be putting these into the lower power modulator - good match for the S21 - was gonna go pedestrian with 809's or 811's but I love running funky tubes in my rigs. Gotta dig that box art. So Hytron HY 40's it is. no audiophool wants these things.  Cheesy

Pair of these will do real well @ 750 volts or so. not too much, but enough. "Rig here is a Eimac 5-125B modulated by Hytron hy40's".

If me thinks correctly, they are Hytron's answer to the 809s. (with a 40w dissipation rating) When you come ova to get the Derbaphone, remind me to look, I may have a couple of smaller 7.5v fil transfomas..................

I got a s-series that has both 6.3 for the octals and 7.5 for the hytrons. I have to check the current rating, the hytrons want 2.25 amps. I would think that transformer would do that no problem. One of those thor units you gave me the other day is gonna be the plate xfmr.
