This really has me thinking Grin  The pic is from this web site.

I love the way he did the tank coil.  Oh yeah, check out the tuning knob.  I have those in my old house

Notice he used the same shade of blue for the panel as the 6m rig on ePay.

I guess it's da new fashion.  Roll Eyes

now, I do like the cut crystal tuning knob. I may have to procure some of those in the white porcelain style. That would look slick an bad.

Making AM GREAT Again!

Everything is beautiful, except the plate connector.

I can't imagine how it effects the anode seal at the top, what with all the lateral forces on it.

But MAN, he surely deserves an award, at least an atta boyee, for the attention to detail.  That's a beauty of a P.A.

Interesting concept. Nice layout. The hot and cold water faucet knobs are a little different

But I don't care for the PVC coil form.  The rf properties of that stuff are on par with paraffin impregnated wood.  There are better materials out there. Lexan,  polystyrene, plexiglass come to mind.

That had to be one of the better examples of workmanship I've seen in awhile.

When I saw that crystal knob he was using I could only imagine if Liberace were a ham how gaudy his radio would look Grin Grin

Don, it looks esentially to me like an air wound coil.  The end forms and hex spacers are the only plastic.

-Nice work.

-Nice work.

Everything said about the material used in the coil  --- I'd be interested in materials sub.. that would adapt that  approach.  One approach I've seen is to drill holes in a rectangular strip for the spacing you want and then saw the strip in half resulting in rounded groves for the wire.  Anyway, There must be some examples out there of what I'm talking about -- it certainly isn't a novel approach -- I do like the idea though

He was truly a work of art to say the least.
