Indeed. When someone told me I could join the QCWA, I almost slit my wrists.

HUZ, you're quite the OM compared to me - but 27 years is getting there. I'm buzzardly enough to where I took my first 2 exams at the FCC office. You gotta be buzzardly to be able to say that.  Cool

Wow Frank. You must be old! Carol is not though.  Wink  Not as old as Dave though.  Grin
Speaking of old, I just realized that I've been licensed for 32 years. Put me in the coffin already!

But are you ready for "the heartbreak of psoriasis" net yet? ?    Shocked  Grin

Dave and I called the Lumbago Net on Sunday afternoon but you were not heard. Good conditions on 75 meters, not like Saturday night when the static was 20-over-9.

Had the RF deck out of the 4x1 rig, doing some upgrades and testicling. After a dose of the Norwalk Virus and cutting the grass, my lumbago was bothering me too bad to get up off of the couch. Shocked  Wink

Dave, watch out, it'll catch up with you quicker than you think. Its right around the corner just waitin to get ya! !  You'll be tradin that Cadillac for a battery powered scooter buggy Wink  Grin

Steevo, I have to pull the P.A. deck out one more time, I'm still working out the P.A. tank coil / loading cap issue. I have it loading nicely on 80 and 160, but 40 is now a little wierd. I also have to troubleshoot out the scream regulator as well. I may be doing some on air testing one night this week. One way or the other I will be on for the lumbago net friday.

Oh yea, Mad Dog took one of the smoked out transfomas, he said he wants to try his hand at rewinding one  Grin  Grin

Can he join us on the no antenna net?

All kidding aside, I'd be happy to trek up there and do some antenna work. Then we could beat him up in person instead of here.   Wink Cheesy

I took all my exams except novice in front of FCC, have been K5UJ since 1977, refuse to join QCWA, BUT, being relatively new to AM feel like a noob all over again which is kind of cool  Grin

Paul,

Congratulations and best wishes.

Why is it that after 46 years on the air and 23 years of marriage, women still think I have a problem with commitment?

Prior to PC's and memory...it was more fun to bootleg, and when one lived on a Farm way off the main road...hey why bother going to the field office. I got my License when things were closing in and everything became instant.

I'm a Baaaaad Man...lol I had fun Grin

Obviously, from the above remarks, all your old buds think highly of you Paul.

You and Pam sure make a very handsome couple.
And with such a dashing crew alongside.

Congratulations!

Hey Rick, where the heck have you been. We don't hear you on the air for ages and you disappeared from here too. Are you wanted by the law?
