I don't have such a thing handy, but it does depend on the material the lams are made of... I'd look online... and in the Radiotron Designer's handbook there are references as well as charts and equations... you can download it free from Pete Millet's site, iirc... if you don't have one.

That's a start.

You can also look at various xfmr mfrs sites, and also look at what size cores that they use for what VA their  CCS or ICAS rated xfmrs are... they will spec the core window at least... maybe more.

Check the older handbooks. '70s, 80s there is a graph VA vs core area

I plotted this from a metrified the eqn. in Reference data for radio engineers 2nd Ed (1946) :

core area(sq in) = sqrt(60/f)*sqrt(wattage)/5.58

may be of some use..

Lamination material changed over the years. Id say the first change took place around 1959-60 and another in the 80's. If reusing ancient laminations the core requirements will be larger for a particular kva rating.

One of the old transformer catalogs had full design info using the vintage ratings but I dont remember which. Kenyon, UTC, Thordason??
