Well Hats off to Jack.........he's getting good mileage out of 20M. Good QSO's and hopefully good distance.

Indeed 20 meters has been a lot of fun.  I love that it has been staying usable to midnight give or take an hour.  Jack and I was just getting started last night.  20 meters last night reminded me a lot of 40 meters in the spring.  When the bottom fell, Jack went from s9 right down to about s2 with the my noise level and I could tell he was there but the copy became really strained.

QRZ powered by Google maps indicates:

K9ACT
Bearing: 12.7° N (from KX5JT)
Distance: 860.8 mi (1385.3 km)

I wonder if the FCC still issues pink slips.

After running the robot for about 30 minutes with no takers and a clear channel, I happened to look at my VFO and found that it was on 14.386.

It's hell getting old.

One call on the correct freq netted N7FMM Ed in Oregon who apologized for not noticing my carrier and immediately pushed his AM button and we had a nice chat.

It was his first ever AM contact.

There were only a couple of buckets on the entire band and the noise level was near zero.

I listened earlier on 75 and sort recognized the voice of HLR thru 20+ static crashes but couldn't and didn't want to even try copying anyone in  those conditions.

20 is nice.

Yeah Jack,
I think I might give 20 a try even though my dipole has many lobes and nulls, according to EZNEC. Yagi still broke and a future 20M dipole is being considered.

With the general mayham of 75/80M I'm sorry I spent the money on the K7DYY class D trasnmitter.
I noticed Bruce has changed his products and is running 300 W TX and using a transformer!!!!!!!! WOW And the price is not too bad.
