Hard to find Globe King 500C screws..

I am trying to find new screws for my Globe king 500C. These screws hold each deck into the Bud case. 10/32 thread. 3/4 inch long. FLAT head screw. The head is tapered to fit the dish washers. I found the washers at the hardware store..  I cannot find the FLAT head screws that match the originals. Mine are rusty and old and I would like new ones.   I have checked various hardware stores and looked online.  Any help would be great!

yes you want the oval undercut headed screws, dont get the flathead. They look wierd when you tighten em up.

Better order some #10 finish washers too Clark.  They have a tendency to run beneath fixed objects when dropped.

Back the drawing board.. MC-Car only has this style in 5/16th length..

Yup, Hammond has them in stock. Standard rack screws, wth your choice of metal or black plastic cup washers.

Looks to me that WRL used the old standby BUD rack cabinets and their screw/washer combo.  Usually there was a delrin or nylon insert under the metal cup washer to keep the panels in good shape, but you couldn't see it from the front.  You might see how the Hammond plastic fits under the metal job.

Technically, the correct designation is a slotted oval head machine screw.

Cool! Thats the ones I need.  Now to find someplace to actualy buy them.  I think Tubesandmore.com is a hammond oulet and they are up the street.

The most common ordinary every-day items increasingly turn out to be "discontinued" when you try to buy one.

That's the reason I save every nut, bolt, washer and screw when I part something out.  If it's so far gone that I throw it in the trash (something has to really be totally useless if I throw it away), I salvage every removable piece of hardware before trashing it.  I have several hardware bins and a large sorting tray to use when I try to find a specific piece in a random pile.
