Moved to 14.328 AM

When I was on 14.320 the frequency was clear and free and I was calling CQ for a solid 2 minutes.  Right at 21:00 on 14.219 some "Christian Missionary Net" Operator totally disregarded my presence and started his net CQ.  Some Christian.  Not a very good testamony for him.

Anyway, I moved to 14.328 and now some mother/son schedule started up on 14.327 ssb.  She sounds so frail and in such poor health and so very glad to hear from her son.... gosh...

I'll wait for them to finish.

I'm setting up shop on 14.345 this afternoon and calling some CQ AM... I have been listening for quite a few minutes and there is no activity around this frequency, the closest qso is down around 14.336 so here goes!

No, I wasn't transmitting.  I heard what I thought was a weak carrier but I think it's just a birdie from somewhere in the house.

Things have picked up a little.  I hear an Alberta station working Spain on 14.286 (SSB)

John, I posted this on another thread - I'm game to do 20m AM (I wanted to do it last summer, but there were no takers, and the cals I mad, went unanswered).  But, it would have to be after 6 PM Central Time.

Hi Ellen,

I work night shift and I leave home at 6pm Central on my work nights.  My next night off will be Friday night.. maybe we can co-ordinate a late afternoon attempt!  40 meter is still pretty noisy during daylight.  I worked Todd, KA1KAQ this afternoon on 7.160 but it was VERY rough.  Not enough to stick and stay.  20 meter would be much more delightful if we can get something going!  So Friday evening!?

Sure. That sounds good to me.  When do you want to finalize the sked - on Thursday?

We can.  When the time actually comes, we can always finalize the actual freq on the fly here if for instance it's already in use.

A half hour ago.  20 was dead, although John did hear bits and pieces of one of my transmissions.
