I would like to request the advanced search function be modified so that that one can search "by user:" without having to enter a specific word in the "Search for:" field. This way, one can find a member's posts, in case some piece of wisdom was lost and the key wording could not be remembered.

I realize that leaving both fields blank would cause the result to include every post on the board, but, to counter that, I offer these ideas in order of preference:

1.) that the searcher has to enter something in either the "by user:" or the "Search for:" fields. If both were left "*", an error would be generated to the searching user.

2.) that it be done so that the searcher has to enter (something) in at least one of the three real fields, even if it is a "Message age:" of some rather short time, say 90 days.

That way I could find all the good posts, the ones by Gary and Pete. (sucking up noises heard in bagkground)

Why not click on "Members"; click "Search for members", find the member of interest; click on Username, then look to the left side of page under Profile Info, and click on "Show Posts".
