A friend from England tipped me off to a web controlled SDR receiver located at The University Twente in the Netherlands. What is unique about this web receiver is that multiple users can tune it to different frequencies, simultaneously. The web interface is in the form of a waterfall or spectrum display (your choice), and you can change frequencies simply by grabbing the slider with your mouse cursor and moving it up or down the band. Very slick. Some information about the experiment can be found here:

Note: If you insert your callsign into the provided field on the web interface page, your call will appear in the box near the bottom of the page, along with all the other users. At the time I was playing with the receiver, there were 32 other users. There is also a running chat dialog, similar to an IRC channel, for all the users to comment on what they are listening to.
