While looking at the 15th edition of the ORR Handbook, I noticed that he has a design for a 300 watt AM rig, in which the VFO/Exciter is not tuned, that is, it does not have the traditional pi network on the output.  (I suppose because it is not necessary to match an antenna) The input to the "big" amp has a tuned circuit for each band - - - sooo the question I am asking is, can I just leave my 2E26 "barefoot" and plug it into the National MB 40SL I am putting on the input to the 4-125 final I am building?

WHy not?  Use the MB-40 as part of the plate circuit (isolated with a blocking cap, obviously), unless the MB40 wants to see a low impedance (50 ohm) input.

That's what I was thinking. It is amazing to have all of these resources and kindred spirits around. Thanks
