Conductive adhesive is a natural outgrowth of the research being done in "gecko" adhesives

Here's the geico...er gecko

A guy at Deerfield Flea was giving away samples of this kind of stuff.
All you had to do was answer a couple questions. He was looking for a good name for his product.
We  used ablestick in microwave hybrids years ago. It was the strongest stuff I ever used and had a very low resistance. You could get it almost soft if the hybrid was stuffed in a solder pot full of molten solder.

does not sound hacker-friendly. How does one "unsolder" it?

First they take away the Pb, now they want to take away the solder altogether. "They" need to protect us from ourselves. Oh God, poison solder fumes! Clear the building! Everyone RUN! (And don't trip over my supply of PCB oil caps on your way out.) Wink

They have this orange crap in a bottle they sell at the supply house. It's an adhesive for gluing together copper pipe fittings. The display has about an inch of dust on it since any self respecting HVAC guy or plumber isn't willing to be caught dead using the stuff.

That's why I have collected a lifetime supply of lead/tin rosin core solder.
