I'm getting ready to drag the stereo reciever and Jensen speakers out to the operating position in the shack. before I reinvent the wheel, is there a good ready made audio pick off point in the FT 101 that is the right level for the aux input? I'm goin to snoop around he audio board  but maybe someone has already done his out there in radio land.  Huh

Try picking audio off the hi-side of the AF pot.   That usually provides the right level and Z.  Use a .1 (or larger)  cap in series to block any DC.

Typically full output of an audio amp, referenced to the input is ~1volt.

So, you put ~1volt in and you get full output, approximately.

Whatever lash-up you choose [ Mr DERB ] insert a small matching transformer for isolation reasons. Ground loops suck   Shocked. Shadio Rack sells a nice 1:1 tranny for cheap and the Bogen WMT-1 is my favorite. Both of these transformers are available.
I no longer have stange EQ settings on my Class D 80M transmitter thanks to the matching tranny. Apparently the impedance match was so bad that it affected freq response in the transmiited audio and caused me to unfairly critisize Bruce's, (K7DYY) efforts.
