Hello group
The LST 325 (Landing Ship -Tank 325) that has been restored to WW II specks is touring the Mississippi River.
http://Http://lstmemorial.orgThe ship will be in Hannibal Missouri Thursday the 21 of August through Monday the 25 of August, 2008.
The ham club I belong to has be given the honor of operating the radio room on ham frequencies while it is docked in Hannibal.
I will be in the radio room from 11:00 AM until 1:00PM local (Central US Time). Most of the other operators in my club will be using an SSB rig brought on board for the purpose. I have asked to operate the original equipment on AM.
I must confess although I have an Icom 735 with AM capabilities, I have used it only two or three times in that mode (A long time ago
)
Here is where I need your help. What frequencies should I use? Will I find people to work? Would any one like to make a sked? Would anyone like to help me with any advice you think I will need? If any of you live close to Hannibal Missouri, would you like to come down and see the ship?
