There isn't an aneurysm in North America that can bother him!

Glad to hear he is improving.

There's only one Astabula Bill!

Great News.
Good for vyz.

Last time I was in the hospital, they wouldn't let me do a Zepp on the roof.
Even for the Zenith Transoceanitic.
And my room didn't have 240 volts.

My insurance company sucks.

:)Had qso with Bill yesterday on 40. He sounded pretty good but not 100%. He appears to be waiting for what will be the suggested treatment.

my Step mother had a leak 1 1/2 inches behind her eye. It took at least a month of tests before the dock would drill in. He did a perfect job and she lived a normal life for another 15 years.
I just hope Bill's insurance co doesn't give him excuses.

We all wish the very best for Ashtabula Bill, who is not only a great AMer, but also a great Ham and a great human being.  Our prayers are with ya, Bill.

Bill's a legend! God bless him!
5 years ago my Grandma had an anyerism that had grown to 1/2" and was not fixable by clips (restricting the blood flow). All we could do is pray, and actually it has worked. The anyerism decreased a little in size, then slowed its growth to where the doctor said she'd likely die from something else (like old age) first. She's 95 now and still doing OK but getting a little hard of hearing! The power of prayer is something I believe in.

Heard him too.  He  said it was about 2 weeks ago that they scheduled his surgery, and told him it would happen in 2 weeks.  It's been 2 weeks now, and he still has no word of any surgery order, but is expecting it any time.

The latest - - Provided by Dave W6PSS

Quote
Following from Ashtabula Bill's XYL  Sylvia:
"Just heard from the VA and he is going in  Mon for an angiogram in
preparation for the surgery. We have to be there between  7-730 AM and the test takes
about an hr and a half, but 4 hrs lying down after  so it's pretty much the
whole day. Then they will schedule the surgery 7-10 days  after that. (so they
say) Also for the surgery,  they will be putting in a  stent and they do this
thru an incision in the groin, so he will not have an  abdominal incision ,
which will be less painful. So that's the up to date news  at least we are getting
on with it."

No doubt you've heard  Bill on-air recently.  No impending surgery or "slop
buckets" are going to  keep him down!    AM Forever!

His condition must not be that critical if he has been able to wait several weeks for the procedure.  Just hope Bill doesn't take a turn for the worse before he can get it done, and that the surgery goes well.  His age is one thing not helping him in this situation.

I just read a story in this month's AARP newspaper about an elderly lady who discovered a strangely behaving mole, but it took her several months before she was able to get in to see a dermatologist, despite the fact that she had Medicare and plenty of private insurance coverage.  It turned out to be cancerous and by the time she got in for treatment, it had already spread to multiple parts elsewhere in her body.

You mean to say that 7290 has been released from the Hurricane Net do-gooders? Wink

I suspect so. To be truthfully honest, I didn't think they were going to relinquish it that quick. Scratch one hurricane though. Josephine just blew herself apart and is diminished to a tropical wave.

Heard Bill Saturday talking with Mike WU2D and some N8 station. Couldn't hear Mike, could barely hear the N8, Bill was wall-to-wall. Heis voice sounded a bit weak, but he mentioned that he was planning to go out back and do some shooting in the afternoon if it was dry enough. He also did battle with a yellow jacket and won while he was transmitting. "Thought it might try ta bite me, but it won't bite anyone now - I just cut it in half with a knife".

Good to hear him on the air with plenty of fight in him.

I worked Bill on 7.290 for a few minutes late this morning.
The band was up and down but his voice was strong and
sounded good as ever.   Cheesy Cheesy
