Went with my wife to see Sex and the City tonight  Wink

No doubt about it, it's a chick flick through and through, but I have to say I found it pretty amusing.

I had some experience with the TV show, as I needed something to occupy my mind while exercising (at 11:00 PM), and the only thing on at that time was this show or the news, and I do not watch TV news (too much glitz, fluff and too many commercials).  So, I did have some background as to the characters, plot, etc.  The movie pretty much exactly follows the form of the original TV show, and is essentially a follow-on to the last season.  There is an "introduction" for those who are not familiar with the original series.

So, if the woman in your life wants you to come with her to see the movie, you'll get points with her, and there are some rather attractive women on the screen (albiet, whose clothing budgets would break Donald Trump)   Cheesy  Hint: Prada

One word of warning:  The men in the moive are all much better looking and have MUCH MUCH more money than any of "us", but, hey, can they fill a basement or room full of heavy metal sharp things (my wife's words) that interfere with the telephone and occasionally produce smoke?  Now, come on - who could compete with that?  Cool

Regards,

Steve

Pure fantasy. Three or four women who live in $5000 a month apartments in Manhattan, were wardrobes priced at a few hundred thousand and never work!!!

I know, I know!  But it sure is nice to dream about.   Most proffessional women like me, frankly dress very casually on the weekends.  You get tired of always having to dress up for work.

Since most of the women I know (except for my sister-in-law) are conservatives  and are not air-head Princesses, I won't be dragged to see this movie.  Besides, I'm divorced.

Indiana Jones, however...  first in line! Grin

"voted the unsexiest woman alive".

WELL, I know that's not true cause there's one where I work, at least they say she's female, a bad tempered, tobacco chewing lesbian that makes this girl look like a goddess.

If I had to choose between watching this movie and stabbing myself in the throat with a rusty butterknife, then somebody better put down a tarp, because this is gonna to get messy.

I agree.

What's that thingy on her chin? Does one have to lick it or is that push to start?

Sure not happy looking.
But then again, wasn't that the premise of the TV series, looking for "happiness" and "fulfillment" in material objects and carnal pleasures?
What a sad and vacuous existence indeed.  Sad

Sara can open dog food cans with that nose.
Steve must have spent way too much time in the shack to pull that jail time.

My opinion exactly, regarding mainstream network TV. Check your local PBS station. They might run the BBC news late at night.

Going to see the SATC movie is like rubbernecking at a traffic accident... you don't want to but you can't help it  Tongue
I'm going to wait until it comes to the video store.

I have seen a couple of "real" chick flicks that are actually pretty watchable even for guys... for the younger set: "The Sweetest Thing" with Cameron Diaz, and for middle-aged and old-buzzard types I recommend "Shirley Valentine".

ps I always thought Sex and the City would have been a much better show without SJP, just the three girlfriends!  Cheesy
