I guess a lot of us would give eye teeth to just go back and take one of those Cleveland Institute courses, find a '99.', etc....  what looked so hard back then looks so easy now...

Yep, Kenny Rogers and The First Edition.  It was written by my friend, now deceased, Mickey Newbury.

I have always been rather fond of that song. much more than the Kenny Rodgers country stuff!
