I have Not found much on the internet for them...Thanks....Tim...WD4TC...
Does this mean the Home brew goes to the back burner  ?? or use some of the parts for this ??

NOICE!

Look up W0YVA and drop him a quick email, he has most of the Millen pieces and accompanying manuals.

Congrats on the find Tim, and thanks for sharing it with the crew!

If you go to http://www.manualman.com I have both manuals.
It's interesting that the power amp. has two switches (one looks aftermarket) and a panel light, yet the catalog photo of the power amp. doesn't show the switches nor the panel light.

And, all three pictures you show are of the 90881 power amp.; no picture of the 90800 which is the 50 watt transmitter-exciter.

Very nice Tim!

MY neighbor down the road, Bill K1BF, has this set up.
In addition to being a real gentleman to deal with, I believe that he has it on the air, so he may be of some assistance.
Last I spoke with him, he was thinking of getting it on 160 with the addition of a larger coil.
QRZ K1BF and tell him I said hello!

Hello Pete , Your right I just started the cleaning process on the exciter but here it is B-4 .. and as for the switch I don't know for sure . This one has had a Filament transformer added to the deck instead of pulling fil.Voltage from the external supply ?  I THINK...  Thanks for the insight on the manuals ..I have just  been there ...Tim..WD4TC

I gave away one of those exciters about 30 years ago because I had no use for it  myself and nobody else seemed to think it was worth anything.

A very nice find indeed.  Rare to find one not completely j.s'd and having the front panel in such nice condition.

From my '57 handbook, The Millen 90881 is a 500 watt input amplifier and most commonly manufactured for a pair of 812s.  I see in your pix that someone chose 813's or modifed it later for them.  Must have had to enlarge the tube socket cutouts, I guess.

I wonder how the stock coil Q's, etc. match the 813's with their relatively smaller load resistance at constant plate voltage?

Very few bought the complete set of Millen stuff.  It'd be nice to rack up a whole panel of matching Millen.  I think someone displayed a set on this site a while back.  Did Millen ever make a rack mounted version of their 90711 VFO or was the intent to have it close by, just lookin' cool on the op's. desk?

Is this the same as the 'Two Tube plug-in coil exciter" in the '41 ARRL H'book? Its certainly the same tube line up and almost identical physical layout.
