I got on 3737 about 10 PM, joined by Timtron, a local and a SSB station from Texas who later changed over to AM.  Turns out he regularly operates AM with the 5-land gang.  I finally signed off with Tim about 2 AM.

I had planned to get on earlier, but I received a phone call from a ham friend who told me about this

I searched the web and found this.  Subsequent surfing the links kept me sidetracked for over two hours before I finally got off the computer and on the radio.

If what she says is true, this is utterly astounding.  I feel flabbergasted. Why hasn't the local media picked up on this?

That's interesting Don, she just came right out and said it...imagine that...it'll be squashed soon as the word gets out.

I was down on 3646 earlier and called CQ and then went to 3710 but was sidelined by the SSTV guys. The MK-214D is rock bound so I'm limited there.

Tantalizing but "this" doesn't help much when it only links to video clips for us dial-uppers.

Searching news wires for the keywords brings up nothing.

Are FETs supposed to glow like that?

That's true, "youtube" is not a dial-up user site...that's for sure...
I have never succesfully seen a clip there....

Plus, I don't have enough security to block all the viruses propagated through the site..
(I hear it's one of the leading venues for those nasty little buggers.)

She misspoke. From the context, it’s clear she meant Daniel Pearl.

I had thought of that possibility.  But why didn't Frost challenge her statement or at least ask her to clarify or correct herself?

And why didn't the media pick up on this?  Usually, if a prominent personality makes a slip of the tongue, even something trivial, it's all over the media the next day.  You would think this would be the case here, given the implications if what she said was true.

I haven't listened recently.  Wonder if this story has made the AMBC radio talk show circuit.

Regardless, the conspiracy theory gang is going to have a heyday over this.

When was the last (first) time a reporter asked Bush to explain what a nuculus was?

Wouldn't it be comforting if the person with his finger on the button could pronounce it.

Myth. There is no button.
