I've just completed editing some recordings from January, 1996.  These include N2INR and W2TPL, among others. Unfortunately, they're too big to upload here.

I've notified Gary, and will try to send them to him for posting in the Audio Vault

Do you recall anything incriminating in there ?

Also, good working you last night Ed !  Someone else worked you too, I thought, because it was remarkable to hear your voice on the radio at long last.

I think you're on my spool of tape. I've got nearly two hours of material to go through. Usually I'd hit REC when condx and or content were really good.

Paul, my local situation is terrible:  killer QRM!  My local QRM level is  S9+30!!!   If anyone   tried to call me, I didn't hear them!

I've tried everything, including the MFJ Noice Canceller.   I need to move it's sense antenna closer to the source of the QRM.  Even so, I still have other crap, possibly including arcing insulators from a 15KV line  down the street.  Bah!  "I'se regusted".

Still it was good to at least work you. You were strapping, with a +40 signal.  I was running my "rice-box" an FT-990,  30W output.  I'll try and put some other rigs on line soon, including the Johnny Ranger and the Apache.

Oh, and nothing incriminating in these old recordings,  just fond memories, good times  and old call signs.    Grin

Piss Weak Ed, good to see you surface OM!

I'm looking forward to hearing your audio files, its great to get them up on the net for posterity!

I'm still in need of one of the famous AM Compendiums and audio CDs published by your station some years back. Please advise and will forward needed costs for reproduction.

Best for the New Year!

Bruce,

The "AM Handbook", is sort of out of print.   All I have is the original material.  I may yet reprint it, with new additional material.  In fact,  why not?  Lot's of new guys getting into AM.   The 90 minute tape of Timmy describing the DX-100 and Apache mods is still available. I may produce a CD of it.    If you want the tape, just give me your mailing address.

Bruce,
I see you're  responsible for the AM Audio Vault.  Should I send my audio files to you?

Either way is fine Ed.
I've got a large number of files to upload, and the spiffy new FTP program should work well with the iMac.
I've got the wireless network running on 802.11N now, and it just flies along for audio and video.
I plan on getting some up later this week.

You could also send the AM CD, if you'd like that posted as well.

Direct email is my callsign at ARRL.net

Here's another tasty little morsel for your edification.    Timmy should have taken up opera!

14 uploaded to the vault so far.  Much more to come.
