Hmmarlund HX-50

I have a chance to get a Hammarlund HX-50 ,is this transmitter worth the effort to rebuild.I already have a Valiaent I&II and a DX-60 and DX-60A.I would like to drive my Gonset GSB-101 with the HX-50 .Any opinions are welcome  Thanks WB2FQD.Joe.

I don't know anything about the HX-50. I just dropped by to say I think your Novice callsign is very cool.

I used my call sign from 1963 to get on amfone  before  I got my license back in Nov.2006.About half of my gear has been sitting  for 25 years without being used (only the transmitters )I always used the receivers when ever I had the chance.Joe.WN2FQD-KC2QOM-WB2FQD

Have to say its been closer to 40 years than 25,But I tried to keep everything in  working order.It nasty when you can't remember how long ago you stopped doing something,but I'm  back into it even if I can't remember everything I forgot.Joe WB2FQD

I have an HX-50 sitting in the "to do" pile. They are a neat looking transmitter. After looking at the skizmatic, I think they could be made into a pretty versatile low powered exciter for linear AM service. I think they will make somewhere around 10-15w of DSB am.

I will eventually post my findings here on AMfone when I find that mystical, elusive thing called "a round tuit"
