Sheesh. Whatever. It works for the story.

However, we all know secretly who really has the most fun, hands down.  The best attended forum was about a fifty (plus) year-old receiver!  This workshop will be offered again at NEAR-Fest III and beyond.

The R-390A workshop George Rancourt put on was the highlight for me, he's a natural at it, I then played washtub bass with a couple of bluegrass players for about 30 minutes until it got too cold.

Sorry I missed the jam. Brings back memories of jamming with Ronny, WA3WBC at Rock 5. Ron was bad to the bone on the washtub bass, even on the floor!!!

August 1994.
Man look at him hump that bull fiddle.
Can't put my hands on the audio at the moment.
It's around, and ought to be added to the Audio Vault, eh ?

Rock V was the rarest Rolling Rock event when it came to number of stations worked. There was a huge thunderstorm not far from Lake Aerial,  Penna. where it was held, yet Gary who did the toast kicked it off with a certain special fanfare.

Who knows how many heard it.
You had to be there, fer sure.

But Rolling Rock, now brewed in Joisey, isn't what it used to be. Fortunately there are ample opportunities to upgrade.

'twas the brew of choice at WGDR back in the early 80s, painted labels and all. I clearly recall putting Kansas' Opus Magnum on the platter, then driving into town with some friends to buy a case, monitoring the station all the way and praying that the stylus didn't get stuck.
