Yet another addition to the ever-growing, ever-popular, AMfone site.

The Radio Books, Magazines and Handbook Forum, which can be found at http://amfone.net/Amforum/index.php?board=61.0.

This is a new forum for posting information on; interesting vintage radio books, reviews of current and vintage books, hints on which handbooks or technical texts are best to pick up at swap meets, old radio magazines...really anything related to paper publications.
With your help and contributions, this forum can be expanded to include scanned vintage articles, magazine covers, etc.

In the past, we often discussed such topics in the QSO forum, and that's fine to continue with, the new forum is intended to be a more readily accessible reference point, in essence a clearinghouse of printed, radio related, materials.

Old radio books are readily available in local fleamarkets, hamfests, online and at antiquarian book sellers. Most of us know the classics, Terman, the 1940s vintage ARRL and "West Coast" handbooks, RCA Radiotron series, etc. Surprisingly, you can often find these classic texts for very reasonable prices, sometimes under $5. Its a simple matter to build a great vintage radio reference library for less than the price of nice dinner for two. But some of the more obscure publications, say The Radio Boys series, The Young Wireless Operators, Shortwave Craft, are just as enjoyable, but often overlooked.

So, have you read a good radio book lately? Let others know by posting a short review here.
Find an interesting article in a magazine, again, share with the other folks.
Have a favorite magazine series, mine is Radio News, let us know.
What's your favorite technical manual, tell the fellows (and gals).

Just one request, be sure to respect copyright law, and publish only small excerpts or quotes from recent publications.
Some publishers are more sensitive to this than others, but when in doubt, error on the side of caution.

This is a group effort, and your suggestions, feedback, reviews and tips are both valued and needed to make it useful for those on the board

Thanks!
