We had an absolutely beautiful day yesterday for the B.R.A.T.S. hamfest At the Howard County Fairgrounds in West Friendship md.

Great wx!! Lotz of boatancah stuff. (how many times do you see 4 BC-779s, 3 AT-1s, and 3 Meissner EX's, and 3 Hq-129xs at one fester these days)

Quite a few local AMers (and a few aspiring amers as well) floating by, but something was noticably missing!! I didnt see hyde nor hair from W3JN!!!

John, with a fester this close to your home, you were definately conspicuous by your absence!!

That's an interesting way of putting it, Frank. I always figured he was more suspicious by his presence, guilty by association, all that.  Grin

I spent last week in Minnesota at my folks'.  We drove back Sat and spent yesterday and most of today in Deep Creek to rest up.  I used to be able to do the 18 hours straight no problem but I'm getting to be an old buzzard and by the time we hit Deep Creek I was wrecked.

Didjya score anything good?

Yea, I know what you mean. Costs me about $300 in time off and gas to go to Deerfield and came home with about $25 in parts.

I guess it meant more when there was a Shriner's donation to the burn unit.

Not that they would have gotten the other $280 out of your $300 of course.

Has anyone gotten a public count of the gate at the NEARfest ?

Be interesting to see the numbers.
