Tnx for the memories. It is a little bit of heaven. Plus Joe is a great guy

The buzzard speaker I bought from you on eBay now serves as a speaker and PS for a HB Rcvr that I did some swapping with Joe on about a year ago

Absolutely incredible!  Geesh!!!!.................I thought that I had a lot of stuff.  Besides that, Joe is a really nice guy to talk to on the air.  Boatanchors rule....but tie 'em down or they might get sucked into the vortex. Grin

Hey Joe, keep your eye on the swinging watch . . .

You are getting sleepy . . .
you are in a restful happy place . . .
you want to give me that HQ120 . . .

Great pictures, thanks for the tour.   I see why it's called the Vortex.

Wow, what a collection. This answers my question of why there are fewer & fewer boat anchors at the hamsests over the years. Vortex is a good descriptive name.Joe is a lucky man to be literally surrounded by so many treasures. I can't wait to show the pics to my wife because she says I collect too much stuff.

Now I will say with some certainty,

1. "I'll bet Joe is not married." How else would he be able to get away with this?

2. Joe must have had a good paying job to be able to buy all of those treasures.

3. Joe must be retired to be able to devote so much time to the hobby.

As Emerson, Lake, & Palmer said, "Oh What a Lucky Man He Was."

There is a new main door to the Vortex Via John, W3JN & Frank & Carol KB3AHE/KB3OMT
Joe will be writing a description of each picture and these will be added to the "Vortex" pages soon.

Heh, heh. That's an awful sound to get used to. Listening to those shelves GROAN under all that weight. What sets Joe's collection out from most is that with a little manipulation, any rig will work. Including the broadcast sets upstairs, (which I have had the pleasure of assisting in moving of said radios). I took my XYL down with me once so that she could get the feel of what the 'Vortex' is all about. I reminded her that my station could be the same way if the bug grabbed me. So now I casually remind her of that picture, (which she still has fresh in her mind) when ever she begins to bitch about my radio. Joe's XYL and mine have become good friends and I'm looking forward to the time when we can all get together again.

The Vortex is surely the consumate "Master Blivit Maker" He has taken blivit making to new all time highs!! A trip to the vortex Joe museum is truely an unforgettable experience if you are a ham!! A trip to the "Vortex Joe Museum" should be part of the "right of passage" if you are to call yourself an AMer or old gear afficianado.

A visit to the Vortex is truely an experience you'll never forget!!

Message from Joe this morning.
Re: The Museum Story on each picture.

Keith - I'm up to pic 50 with definitions of the 165 you have that you took in my shack. I'll let you know when I'm finished.

Many thanks again for doing this!
                                               Joe N3IBX

Response:
Well at least I gave you something to do to keep you outta trouble and off the street! Think about all the cash your saving by working on the museum instead of buying more radios for the 16 square feet you have left!
