Although I'd like to claim that the inventor was one of my ancestors, it's Morse, not Morris.

See Steve, I'm not the only one that "didn't get it"  Long Live Samuel F.B. Morse!  I hope he isn't turining over in his grave after being referred to as Morris!!

CW is still enjoyed by many.................not all buzzards, either.

Yea,well, I can claim it's a botched joke and apologize to no one. Tongue

I enjoy CW too. I use it all the time. I use analog modulation on my CW instead of the digital OOK like others use. It's all AM.

Heard you on 75 meters the other evening Jack. Good signal. You were calling CQ. I gave you a call but some 9-lander beat me. Maybe next time.

Yes Steve, I'm sure that I heard you, but you got covered up by locals.  Believe it or not, I was running a little PW rig.  It is a Stancor ST-203A transmitter (1948 mobile rig) A single 2E26 mod by pr of 6V6s...12 Watts to the antenna!!  I worked all over the place with that little rig........amazing what you can do when the band is open.  Condx were really great this weekend.

I once had a Morris automobile.  Model 10 IIRC.  The driver seat was on the righthand side.

I hope you carried a fire extinguisher, the requisite hammer to pound the hell out of the fuel pump when it quit, and a full set of Whitworth wrenches  Grin

That's International Morse code....a modifed version ofthe original Morse code that he had created for telegraph operators. It had several different sequences of elements for some of the letters, and also had an additional element, the long dash.

Anyone else ever watch the Brit mystery "Morse"....had  m o r s e slowly spelled out in the theme song.
