If you guys need the silicon rubber tube skirts for that amp tube with handles I have found a place that will make them for me. I'm going to order some myself so I figured I would offer to get a price for anyone else that was needing these parts. For example a tube with a 7.5" diameter it will cost $135.00. If anyone else does not mind dropping the cash for the right 1/4" silicon rubber skirt for the tube. Let me know. E-mail me directly at wa1hzk@comcast.net

Hi Keith,

I'll be needing a skirt/chimney  for my 4CX3000 NFB amplifier soon.  But fiberglass chimneys from Eimac / used vendors can be had for less, like under $75, etc?   What is the advantage of using a rubber silicon chimney... won't it be more apt to burn compared to fiberglass too?

Is this a more stylish mini-skirt that will impress my gay 6M friends?

Please tell me what I'm missing here.

Use an "AM Courtesy Filter" to limit transmit audio bandwidth  +-4.5 KHz, +-6.0 KHz or +-8.0 KHz when needed.  Easily done in DSP.

Tom,
The 4CX3000A tube socket is 8 inches across so a sleeve from the plate to the chassis will have limited air flow. Yup I only paid $75 for my chimbley.
BTW I was at a flea market and a guy had 4 tubes and a socket for $150.
He had hauled them to a bunch of fleas including Hostraders and I was the only guy who showed interest so he was dieing to unload the stuff. I passed having a life time supply.

I had a bunch of the small ones and dumped them on E-Bay. When you need a really big one they seem to be hard to find. If anyone has the 7.5 inch hole and wants to sell it, let me know.

I ended up buying a new one from the OEM. $103.00 with shipping. Probably better off anyway. The outfit that makes them is Frontier Engineering LLC. Colorado, Tel: 970-785-2897
Maybe these guys can make me some skirts for the Russian triodes?

Why not take a sheet of fiberglass or G10/ FR4 and cut a rond hole. The mount a hunk of PVC pipe or a small chassis around the tube to seal and support the plate.
