A SALUTE TO HAM RADIO OPERATORS

HON. MIKE ROSS OF ARKANSAS

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Wednesday, February 8, 2006

Mr. ROSS. Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize the contributions of American citizens who are members of the American Radio Relay League, known as HAM radio operators.

I rise to speak in favor of members of the female sex, known as OB/GYNs, another one of them acronym groups like HAMs. We produce ARRL presidents in Arkansas, and them OB/GYNs reproduce all over America.

Just thought I would look up WD5DVR`s call on the data base, found it is a novice
license,--and also from the state of Arkansas,--hmm, wonder if W5ZN might have
had something to do with this?

Maybe someone could tell me when the novice license was eliminated?--I know its
been some time now.

Could it be this "news item" is just more politics?--Naw.

Well remember Rene, the new volunteer head of the ARRL has himself a club with his old call sign at the masthead. Since he needs a minimum number of members to file with the FCC, maybe his family alone wasn't enough, and he pulled in this member of Congress as a quid pro quo.
