Use an "AM Courtesy Filter" to limit transmit audio bandwidth  +-4.5 KHz, +-6.0 KHz or +-8.0 KHz when needed.  Easily done in DSP.

On all of the HB rigs in my shack and the Globe Kings ( 8 tx in all) I have replaced the "HV  wire" to the
finals with 1/4" strapping. THis was  a trick from the old Bill Orr books.
I get it from the hardware store, nice assortment of brass stock for under $1.
After doiing this on my T-200 PP rig, she had to be re-neutralized, but boy did it look clean afterwards!

I've got the rig going on 20 meters now...I put a Z 50 choke (homebrew) w/bypass on each side on the modulated B+ right at the secondary post on the mod xfmr.  I made parasitics suppressors for the plate  and grid leads of the final tubes ...(Thanks Keith)...Everything is working pretty well at the 1850 volt level..I am going for more voltage now... Both tubes show some blue inside next to the glass and one of them has a blue ring on the plate lead when in operation...I only have these 2 100ths but I am working on getting some more...I'll report my progess or lack of it ....73  Steve

I just made my first QSO on the 100th rig on 20 meters... It is working very well now... 1850V  300ma  on the final .......a little over 325 watts out on 14.286...I had a nice old buzzard with Bob NA7RH in Ariz...I am going to up the plate voltage now and I need to find a better output transformer for the PP 6L6 speech driver...A couple panels to fabricate and paint black crackle and I have to bulid an RF driver..(.I'm using my viking 1 right now) and I'll have an AM rig dedicated to 20 and 40......Thanks to all that gave encouragement and advice on this project...I'll post some pictures when I'm done....73  Steve

Very good job, Steve!  Nice pictures.

There's a lot to be said about leaving a rig parked on certain bands. Your 20/40M 100TH rig is a great choice. It can be squirrelly constantly tuning up a grid driven rig above 40M.

I plan to do a similar thing here. It's so nice to click a few switches rather than row around the bands with one rig. After a few months lay off on a band, it can be a real challenge to remember exactly what needs to be done to get there.   Most of us just get lazy and stay put.  Grin
