Looking for a schematic for my Alinco PS-5500 power supply. Checked their web site but theybdontveven mention it. It’s about 35 years old.

Checked the Alinco web site for 1996 and 2001.
All the power supply models and manuals listed start with the model number  "DM".
You sure it's Alinco? How about a picture?

Sure I can post a photo. It’s definitely Alinco. I bought it out in Dayton about 35 years ago. It’s been working just fine until about a month ago. I suspect it’s either a problem with the regulator or the mammoth rectifier they use. I’ll post a photo later today

Give it a good look over, looking for loose connections, or heated lugs.

Also, the age is about right for the filter capacitors needing to be replaced. Might be some seepage already evident.

Filter caps look OK, but I'm going to replace them. The failure happened suddenly, where I'm seeing a voltage drop and a lot of "hum". I'm suspecting the bridge rectifier may have failed. I'd still like to get a schematic

Well, it makes a big difference if you supply the correct model number. You said, "PS-5500" when in reality it's an "EP-5500" Maybe you need to start your search over again. Power Supply was offered to the market around 1985.

You might also take a look at the Alinco DM-1350 power supply (it's only a 35 amp supply but design criteria might be very similar). Similar in style. It seems to me I remember Alinco going through some type of corporate change or restructure back in the 90's (or maybe I'm just dreaming) and they dropped a number of their older products. Older products also had the old Alinco logo. And it could be, that Alinco never generated any service related information (schematics) for customer distribution back then. You may have to generate your own actual drawing.

Check the caps and rectumfrier(s).

Also, the LM723 is always suspect, if it has one....  This usually causes voltage to drop like a rock or soar but I have seen loose regulation cause hum, too.

Easiest test is parallel a cap on the output.  Hum goes away, you need more uF.  If not, probably the rectifiers or LM723.

Model number error was a typo, as I posted while I was doing some other e-mail for work with that had items beginning with PS. The photo showed the actual model and my searches were done for the correct model. But thanks for your calling it out.

I checked their other manuals and it looks like they don’t include a schematic

Not sure where you are looking, but, as an example on the Alinco web site for the DM 330MVT power supply manual, besides very good pictorial representations of the assembly, there is also the complete schematic.

And, if you do a Google of "alinco power supply schematics" you get a bunch:
